The game mid-fight: fire spreading across a forested valley toward a lake, with crews cutting line and a rescue call for campers at the lake.
Why it's different

A fire that behaves like the real thing.

It isn't a timer with flames painted on. The fire reads the wind, the slope and the fuel, and it punishes plans that ignore them.

🌬️
Wind and slope decide where it runsDownwind and uphill it races; backing into the wind it creeps. When the forecast says the wind will shift, the head of the fire moves.
🌲
Fuel mattersGrass flashes fast and a scraped line holds it. Timber burns hot, jumps narrow lines and throws embers into spot fires ahead of you.
🌆
Hold until eveningEvery chapter is one afternoon. Make it to dusk, when the humidity rises and the fire lies down, with the town still standing.
How it plays

Read it. Cut it. Hold it.

Starts easy, with your division chief talking you through the first fire. Gets hard fast.

1

Read the fire

Check the wind and where the fire is heading. Tap 🔭 and your lookout shows where it will be in thirty seconds.

2

Send your people

Drag a line for a hand crew to scrape a firebreak. Tap a road for the engine to spray. Tap anywhere for a helicopter bucket drop.

3

Hold until dusk

Spot fires, flare-ups, a wind shift, stranded hikers. Keep your crews safe and the town standing until the evening humidity rises.

The crew

The people counting on you.

They talk to you over the radio, they react to your calls, and they'd rather not get caught by the fire. Every crew has its boss on the radio, and the smokejumpers drop in by parachute.

Act 1 · The story

One summer. One valley. Someone is setting the fires.

A trailer chain on the highway. A road flare in the ash. Two starts at once under a clear sky, the day before the Fourth of July. Walk your crews to each fire's point of origin and build the Case File.

First CallYour first afternoon. A grass fire, a nervous rookie, and Mateo's mom on Pine Street.
Ridge RunFire racing up the ridge, a wind shift, and the school the town shelters in.
Red FlagHot, dry, gusty. Two fires, an ember storm, and a note on your truck.
Everything in it

Easy to start. Hard to master.

FAQ

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Act 1, all three chapters plus the Daily Fire, is free to play, with no ads. More of the story is on the way.

Where can I play?

In any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer, right now. The iPhone app is in testing and coming soon to the App Store.

How realistic is the fire?

Grounded, then simplified so it plays well. Fire runs downwind and uphill, burns faster in dry grass than in timber, and throws embers ahead of itself into spot fires. Firelines and water work the way crews use them.

How hard is it?

You choose: Easy, Normal or Hard, any time before a fire. Easy slows the fire and toughens your crews; Hard brings more wind and embers and pays more score. The three chapters get harder as you go.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-in. Your stars, scores, upgrades and Case File are saved on your own device.

Does it collect any data?

No. The game runs entirely on your device and doesn't send anything about you or how you play.

Who made it?
